Hailing from California, Nayeli is a Neuroscience major at UC Santa Cruz. We are so excited to have her joining our Nutrition and Natural Medicine and Internship in Peru programs this Winter Break!
My name is Nayeli Sanchez; and, I am from the City of Angels ( Los Angeles, CA). After my 2022 experience in Egypt, I did a soul reading that introduced me to Linguistics Horizons. I am a Neuroscience undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Cruz. The next step in my journey is graduating from medical school; so, Peru was on my radar to learn about natural medicine. I have always wanted to learn straight from the source.
I am interested in and intrigued by holistic medicine and the bridge that will connect Western, indigenous, and Chinese medicine. The universe is my guiding force, and Peru felt like another call that I did not understand the same way Egypt called me. During these experiences, I have learned to fine-tune my intuition with what is logical at that moment in time through heart-brain coherence. Every day has been a learning experience, and I appreciate and have a lot of gratitude for the way the doors open and some close in creating my career.
On campus, I was part of the Emergency Medical Slugs (EMS), where we provided emergency medicine during campus events. Healing and learning all modalities of healing the mind, body, and spirit were brought to my attention during my days at EMS and a bit before. I began to see the parallels of quantum physics, energetic tools, manifestations, energy healing, and more. I realized how connected everything genuinely is; together, it will expand.
Learning all the different forms of healing is part of what Peru means to me. Plant medicine has always surrounded me; but, I have never taken the time to follow it as I do now. I am unsure where this path will lead me, but I look forward to everything I had planned for. Once I am in medical school, I will decide whether my specialization will be anesthesiology or surgery. I am open to creating what is despite not having a complete picture. In my mind’s eye, I see myself running a few businesses,; but, precisely in what is where I know Peru will give me clarity without expectations. I am grateful this program exists because learning about nutrition and natural medicine is right up my alley, and the internship at the clinic is perfect for what I had been asking from the universe on my healing journey.
