Meet Jacqui!

Meet Jacqui Robles from SDSU. She’s the latest addition to our Internship in Germany program this summer!

Tell us more about you!
My name is Jacqueline; but, I prefer to go by Jacqui. I was born in a small town in Peru called Talara. Asa kid, I moved around a lot because of my dad’s job. We moved to Venezuela when I was 6 years old and then later to Colombia. So, I consider my homes to be Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela. I am an International Business major at San Diego State University. In my free time, I love to go salsa dancing. I also enjoy playing tennis with my roommate, even though we are not as good as we would like to be.

What is your main motivation for interning in Germany?
My motivation for interning in Germany is driven by having learned about Germany throughout my four years of college. The language has been particularly difficult for me to learn; but, it is going slowly and surely. I love the German culture; but, I’ve never been to Europe before. Interning in Germany will definitely allow me to get to know the culture better.

What organizations are you involved in on campus?
I have been involved in various organizations such as Hispanic Business Association, International Business Society, and the Salsa Dancing Club.

What are some of the places/things on your bucket list?
One of the places on my bucket list is Grasse, France. I love perfumes and would like to see the behind the scenes place where amazing perfumes are made. I also want to visit the historical museums in Germany and the concentration camps.

What are your future career goals?
My future career goals are to apply to a Masters Program in the near future. I want to work as a Project Manager. I love working in customer service; and so, I would like to strengthen my skills while making long lasting customer relationships.

What is your favorite quote?
“Don’t watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going.” – Sam Levenson

What is your proudest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment has been doing volunteer work in Colombia when I was in high school. Helping people and giving back to the community since then has become part of my values.
